National Science Day 2020

        During 18 - 27 August 2020, Sarasas Ektra School organized a National Science Day Activity 2020 with the theme“Earth, Space, Astronomy”. The purpose was to honor and praise His Majesty King Mongkut’s as the Father of Thai Science and motivate students to learn about Science. This was achieved through various activities, including a variety of skills competitions designed by teachers in each subject to encourage students according to their abilities and aptitudes consistent with the theory of Multiple intelligences (MI).

        In addition, Yrs.1 - 9 students were also able to visit the exhibition and enjoyed the bases of Astronomy activities by senior students in Yrs.10 - 12. They also watched the English Drama performance “Queen of Stars” by the Drama Club and an Astronomical Photography Exhibition by students in the Photo club. This was organized to earn money as a donation for the ‘Friends in Need of (‘Pa’) volunteers foundation’ and Thai Red Cross in helping flood victims affected by the storm ‘Sin Lagoon’. Other interesting activities were as follows:

        Kindergarten Department organized four bases of activities and decoration under the theme of the ‘Earth, Space, and Astronomy’ for students in KG.2 - KG.3 to visit and participate in. Activities at various Bases included “The Planets” to learn about the Solar System, Day & Night Games, learn about Day and Night through fun games, paint planets and decorate Space Hats, take photos together at Studio Base. All students were interested in the various Scientific learning processes. In addition, there was also a special activity for students and parents to design a fancy dress under the theme of ‘Family planet costume’ contest” which allowed students an opportunity to show their creativity with their parents, practice assertiveness and have fun with students who were selected from the voting results in the list as follows:

 

 

        Primary and Secondary Departments organized activities which were divided into four main types, as follows;
        . Visiting various learning exhibition bases such as Solar System Base, Atmosphere, Space technology, etc.
        2. Various games for visitors to play with both knowledge and fun such as Rocket to the Moon Game, Journey to the Sun (Crosswords), Welcome to our Galaxy (Snakes and Ladders), Galactic Hoop (Get knowledge from searching from media to answer science questions for prizes)
        3. Academic skills competition according to various subject groups such as Art, Thai and Foreign language, Science, Music and Drama Clubs, as follows:
