Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Faculty of Business Administration, majoring Hotel Management, Silpakorn University
a friend of mine offered me a job opportunity at a restaurant. I worked as Operations manager and Head Chef for one and a half years. Then I left and started my own restaurant. The business went well for one and a half years. Unfortunately, I had to give up and sell my restaurant. This was due to the location and economy. This opened up a new door for me to teach at Silpakorn University, cooperating with Vatel Institute from France as Assistant Instructor, Kitchen / F&B.
• In 2010 : Cruises of the World Cooking Contest Team of 4c by TICC The contestants were instructed to cook four courses of cuisines for 50 diners within six hours. My team won the Bronze Medal.
• In 2010 : Pasta Free Style Cooking Contest Individual In a one-hour contest, contestants were challenged to prepare four different dishes. I also received Bronze Medal for this contest.
• In 2011 : Thailand National Culinary Team Selection /Junior Chef Category I was selected for the Thailand Culinary Academy’s national team, which accepted only three chefs each time. For this competition, I ranked third. Later, I attended the competition in Penang, Malaysia as a member of Thai national team. We won the award for Best Overall Team.
• Returning to cooking contests, last year I joined East Meet West Free Style Cooking Contest, Professional Chef Round. We worked in groups of three and had two hours to cook four courses, with three different dishes in each course. We won the Bronze Medal. Additionally, I took my students to join the Thipparos Competition and they won the second prize, receiving 7,000 Baht reward.
Sarasas Ektra’s learning process enabled me to study in both Thai and English where I could always practise all four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The things I learnt during my time at Ektra were useful for my daily life. I applied the knowledge gained and skills learnt to my university life and now to my career.
During my good old days at Ektra, I did various activities. My most favourite memory was when I was elected “Vice President of Student Council.” My team and I worked on “Violence Reducing” campaign and created good relationships between juniors and seniors. Also, in the same year I was chosen to be the president of Gold Team for Sport Days Activity. Additionally, there was a school overseas camp, which I attended. This gave me opportunity to travel to many tourist attractions. It opened up my eyes to learn new things such as different cultures and the different ways of life of people in different countries.
I would like to take this chance to leave my juniors with some words of wisdom: “Focus on doing what you love. Be loyal. Make every day a happy day for you and everyone.”
