Mr. Theerapong Sanapreecha

Batch 3 (Prathom 4 – Matthayom 6)

   Education :

       Bachelor of Laws, Assumption University

My impressions of Sarasas Ektra School :

I’m proud that I completed a degree in law and, compared with others working in this field, I have the advantage of English skills. I am now working as a trainee attorney at a law firm.
All teachers teach their students to be good and well-qualified citizens. As well, they also teach their students to be very competent in English. For these two reasons, Sarasas Ektra students are more proficient in English than students elsewhere.

My reflections on studying at Ektra :

I saw in a forum not long ago that some people thought that Ektra’s tuition fees are very high, but classrooms have no air-conditioning, study many subjects every day, and yet their language skills are not as good as students from International schools. Think about it. Why are our tuition fees high? It’s because we have to hire foreign teachers, and we need to hire those who are properly qualified to teach here. To become knowledgeable and able to develop further the skills we acquire it’s worth paying more, and our fees are not expensive compared with an International school. We learn in two languages and we are taught by English-speaking teachers from abroad.
The English that we have learned at Ektra is at a high level from which it’s easy to develop more specific language skills needed for a job or further study abroad. Therefore we have a better chance of making progress than others. Learning only Thai will not equip us for the deeper and wider knowledge that can only be obtained from international sources. Most Thai students who study at normal Thai-medium schools are not equipped to do this, but Ektra students are. In regard to International school students I’ve met, I’ve found that most are weak in Thai language, especially reading and writing. At Ektra, on the other hand, The Thai that we learn is quite adequate for daily life and the workplace, and we communicate in Thai much better than graduates from International schools do. This is our strength.
When you study here at Ektra, don’t be lazy. The world around us is moving fast; if we are slow we won’t be able to catch up. Whatever you are doing that is worth doing, keep it up. If it has no value, stop doing it. Don’t waste your time with things of no value. They are just nonsense.

My advice for my juniors :

If you have some free time on Saturdays or Sundays, find a part-time job, so you can learn and acquire some experiences from it. That will be beneficial to you in the future.
