World Gratitude Day

It is a Positive School policy to encourage all students to appreciate themselves and others  because everything and everyone on the planet depend on each other. The school, therefore, takes the opportunity on September 21 of each year, which is World Gratitude Day, to organize activities for students to remember and appreciate the people and things in the world around them that make positive energy happen.

Gratitude Day was conducted from 8-30 September 2020, with 19 September 2020 as a memorial day for the Vice president, Ms. Pensri Yongkamol who was a co-founder of Sarasas Ektra School and who passed away in 2019. School would like to take the opportunity to remember her merits and virtues in guiding and teaching us in various ways, including bringing in Thai speedball calligraphy for students to practice.

The activities that were organized to convey the teachings that she had given and invite students to follow those good examples. Each department had various kinds of activities, as follows:

     Kindergarten Department:

              - Listen to the Tales of Morality from Y.6 students
              - Persuade KG.2-3 students to write the name and draw a picture of the person they want to thank, and put it in the Gratitude Jar every Friday. Teachers will choose the students to share their feelings and give this card to parents on the Open morning

     Primary Department:

              - Y.1-3 students do a Writing activity to put into the Gratitude Box
              - Y.2 students write using the Vertical Calligraphy on the theme of “Age Quod Agis” (Always do your best)
              - Y.3 students write in Vertical Calligraphy on the theme of “Beautiful, Accurate, and Fast”
              - Y.4 students write a Thai essay on the theme of “Compose words about Gratitude”
              - Y.5 students write an English essay on the theme of “Gratitude, the Greatest Word in the World”
              - Y.4-6 students make a card to explain their feeling about ‘Gratitude with the reasons why”
              - - Student representatives express their feelings and give their reasons

     Secondary Department:

              - Organized an exhibition of the work using Thai speedball Calligraphy speedball and portraits of the Vice President
              - Student representatives and Master Suthep gave a speech to remind students that

“humility can give us respect for ourselves and others. No matter how anyone treats us,
we will able to go through that with humility.”

Gratitude day activity is, therefore, an opportunity for the school to encourage students to always be mindful of others and learn to appreciate the value of others. This is the important quality in peaceful coexistence.
