What’s your M.I.?

Sarasas Ektra School has focused on the development of students’ potential according to their individual abilities and aptitudes based on the theory of Multiple Intelligences (M.I.). The objective is to discover the unique potential of each student and to promote the development of other competences. The M.I. activity period was organized to provide opportunities for students to do a variety of activities according to their abilities and interests. It starts with students choosing the M.I. activity group in Year 4. The ‘What’s your M.I.?’ activity for parents and students enables them to do activities aligned with their M.I.. In this activity parents and students explore their interests and aptitudes before deciding on an M.I. activity group.

‘What’s your M.I.?’ was conducted on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 November 2020. M.I. activities were initially presented as a whole and then M.I. in music (Musical Intelligence) through the video of students musical performances and choirs at different levels. After that the parents participated in various activities with the Year 4 students according to the various multiple intelligences:

     1. Sport Base         (Physical Movement/Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence)
Students practice basic futsal to build physical strength and improve movement skills to be agile.

     2. Cooking Base          (Natural Science Intelligence)
Practice creating menus by slicing, rolling and layout various ingredients from nature and turn them into a salad roll that looks good and is appetising.

     3. Computer Base          (Logic and Mathematical Intelligence)
Learn basic code writing principles from Pseudo Code to Flow Chart by computer program.

     4. Lab Gringg Base          (Natural Science Intelligence)
Practice measurement and observation skills from the natural things around us.

     5. Art Base          (Visual-Spatial Intelligence)
Create art with imagination, graphic art from fingerprints, and learn about composition in different dimensions.

     6. Thinking Challenge Base          (Logical-Mathematical Intelligence)
practice computational thinking skills through completing games like BOARD SUDOKU and PARAGRAM within the time limit.

     7. Thai Dance Base          (Physical Movement/Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence)
Train the skills of human movement according to the rhythm of folk dance in the Northeastern part of Thailand.

     8. Role Play Base          (Language Intelligence/Linguistic Intelligence)
Train your brain, show your wit by dividing teams playing word-guessing games (Charades) in which we guess the vocabulary that we learn from movie titles by showing various gestures within the time limit.

The base activities focussing on students’ hands-on practice allow students to discover their aptitudes and interests to help them choose the Multiple Intelligence (MI) activity that is best for them and for further benefit in the future.
