Mother’s Day 2020 activity

Our school’s Kindergarten, Primary, and Secondary Departments organized a National Mother’s Day 2020 activity last August 10-11 to honor Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, enabling students to express their love and gratitude to their benefactor.

The Kindergarten and Primary Department activities consisted of the administrators’ representatives together with groups of teachers and students placing the floral pedestal trays before the Queen’s image. The Secondary Department also conducted the floral offering ceremony, read the Blessing and sang the song ‘Praise the Mother of Thailand’. There was a speech from the student representative from Batch 21, Ms. Nutcha Khunthachaowana who received an educational scholarship from the President of Sarasas Affiliated Schools, Mr. Piboon Yongkamol.

For this scholarship, the President has given students who were chosen from each school 50,000 baht per year. Sarasas Ektra students from Batches 19-21 who received the scholarships are currently studying at the tertiary level in faculties of Medicine, Engineering, Law, and Music. Four scholarships have been awarded to Ektra students. The ceremony closed by singing the Royal Anthem and a photograph was taken as a souvenir.

The admonition from Director Pisut Yongkamon

A woman has the DNA of Motherhood. She will do anything for her child, giving love and care and being ready to protect the whole life of her children for them to grow up to be a success in life. Their success is her success as well.

On this day, we might overlook some things that Mother has done. We may not like it when she complains and admonish us. We might become sarcastic only because we asked for something and didn’t get it. We may become unpleasant and impolite when we don’t get our own way. But then, one day when mother is not there, we will miss her. Therefore, the one who still has a mother mustn’t forget to show her a lot of love.

The thing that makes mother truly happy is not the embrace or kiss from father, but a touch, a warm embrace from her son or daughter. If we have difficulty expressing our love in words we can express feelings through touch instead.

Finally, I wish all students to have a prosperous growth in body and mind in order to have a good life. And I ask all teachers to treat your students with love and care like they are your own children.
