The Thailand International Wind Ensemble Contest came about because of the importance of developing a Wind Ensemble Contest that was hosted in Thailand to bring local talent to an International level. Each band played a Royal Music Composition of H.M. the King's, a National songs, and another song from the 25th-29th November 2009. This year there were 3 kinds of contests: Wind Band, Wind Ensemble and Small Wind Ensemble. There were 24 bands joining the contest. It was a great chance for Thai Wind Ensemble Bands to join more in the international level. It supported Youth Thai to use their free time wisely as well as develop their music potential in the international stage.
