The 21st-22nd November 2014 saw the Ektra Secondary Drama Club perform its' annual drama show. The response and support from parents and students was so great the tickets were sold out for both evening performances. Also held as an example for other Sarasas Schools, members of the administration and staff from many other Affiliated schools came to see our students perform - what an honor it was!
           The evening started with a Khon show by secondary students showcasing their traditional Thai dancing abilities. It was a beautiful sight to behold, especially the pyramid acrobatic maneuvers and balancing which received great audience applause. The Khon dancers lead the audience to the main show: Poseidon's Pirate. It was a story of the pirate Alyus, a son of Poseidon (God of the Sea), charged with finding a magic key at Card Island. He needed it to open the Castle where a magic egg was hidden. On their travels Alyus, his best friend, Eugene and all the pirates had adventurous fights wherever they went. They had help from the Gypsy Calypso to find the mystery castle at Shelikof Bay.
           It was a combination of the stage scenery, sound effects, fabulous costumes, student's acting, magic performance, live music from the school orchestra, Khon dance and student's English ability to make the evening a most memorable and splendid occasion.
           Poseidon's Pirate reached the aims, objectives and expectations of the Drama Club and was a super success. The school would like to thank all parents of the students involved, including the actors/actresses, the musicians, and backstage members for your support, understanding and time in helping the make this Drama Show a success. Thank you to parents, families and students for making it a 'sellout' . It is important to support the Drama Club students to continue to work hard and uphold the tradition of our annual drama performance.

-- Thai Khon Show --

           A battle between Rama and Lakshmana is led by Hanuman, a great soldier of Rama, who conquered the army of Tossakan. This show will continue with the high class Thai classical called “Na Phart” and a song named “Khook Phart”, the piece has been rearranged for only Hanuman. There are 5 episodes to our Khon:
           1. Hanuman is cursed by the Goddess Umathevi.
           2. Hanuman met Rama and gained power and strength to become a General of Rama.
           3. Hanuman was expelled by Rama. In order to get the gratitude box from Tossakan, Hanuman tricked him and Tossakan loves Hanuman like his own son.
           4. After the battle, Rama built another Kingdom for Hanuman to rule: the “Wanorn Kingdom” with humans.
           5. After Hanuman takes over the Wanorn Kingdom, he looked at himself as if he was monkey and control his kingdom with human. He knew that his habits could never be like humans. He decided to become a monk in the wild and be loyal to his majestic King Rama. So Rama takes all of his crew to watch the biggest show of the year “Poseidon’s Pirate”

-- Synopsis : Poseidon's Pirate --

           The world is full of magical creatures and ruled by the most powerful gods. Poseidon is the god of the sea and he sired a son from a mortal being. Aloeus grew up not knowing his father and he is known to be the infamous pirate of the Dead Sea.Born with unique strength and impeccable courage, he is on a mission to fulfill his promise to the god of the sea, which is to find the egg that will give Poseidon endless power to rule the world. In seeking the impossible task, Aloeus with his best friend Eugene and slave pirates embark on a journey to find the key that will lead them to the egg. Their journey started from the Islands of Cards to the frightening oracle Calypso to the Shekelov’s Bay until they reached place where the egg is hidden. This is where the battle of good and bad begins, where hate and love collides and where truth shall set everyone free.

SCENE I : Poseidon's Heir

           Poseidon, the god of the sea ordered his son, "Aloeus" to find the magical egg which will give him endless power to rule the sea. But first he needs the Key from the Island of Cards.

SCENE II : The Island of Cards

           At the Island of Cards, the pirates captured the royal family and Aloeus demanded the queen to give him the key, but it was not with her. The Joker found the key and made deal with pirate Aloeus.

SCENE IIIA : The Shipwrecked Coast

           Back on the ship, Poseidon appeared again and told Aloeus to find the oracle named Calypso. Angelika and Anne were caught eavesdropping at the door by Eugene and were sent to be tied and locked up.

SCENE IIIB : Calypso's Shipwrecked Coast

           At the Shipwrecked Coast, Aloeus met Calypso. She told Aloeus that he had to go to Shelekov bay and find the mermaids. She decided to tag along with him and Aloeus has no choice but to oblige willingly.

SCENE IV : Shelekov Bay

           They arrived at Shelekov bay and prepared for a mermaid hunt. They got on a whaleboat and tried attracting the mermaids by singing songs.

SCENE V : Two Worlds Apart

           They made their way to the Castle of Rhea Izar. There, they found the Egg; "Poseidon's Breath". They opened the egg and learned the secrets that lies within.
