Her Majesty Queen Sirikit was born on 12th August. The Government Authority set this day to be National Mother’s Day Thai people recall of her kindness like the mother of Thailand. Moreover, a mother is a person that we should honor because she is the person who gave birth to us and took care of us as we grow up. A mother’s love is a true love, so we should always recall her importance. This year Sarasas Ektra Secondary Department held a National Mother’s Day Celebration on the 6th August 2014 at the Auditorium for students and teachers to show their appreciation for H.M. Queen Sirikit and our mothers. The celebration created awareness of love, gratefulness and encouraged students to be great kids for their parents. The activities were a Drama Performance “Que Sera Sera & Masquerade”, a Video Show from Student Council, presenting scholarships to students for academic performance and being exemplary citizens, certificate presentations to students enhancing academic and sporting reputation to our school and Mother’s Day Singing Contest.

Director's Speech
My greetings to administrators, teachers, parents, students and everyone in attendance today. I appreciate your time in joining today’s special day. It is Mother’s Day. Today I am pleased with many things, although it is not a Father’s Day, but from the perspective of a son who has a mom. It is beautiful to think of our mother as the person who takes care of us and carries us inside her. Everyone has to stay inside mom for 8-9 months, no matter what your nationality is. A Mother is a very special person. Today is a good chance for students to pay humble respect to our moms on the stage. When all students go back home today, you should respect and hug your moms or you can do other things that come from your heart and that will make your mom happy. It is like you reciprocate her love and generosity already.
I have one point to give you for today. It is about “Bullies”. I would like Ektra to be a home that is full of warmth and full of love. Student cannot be bullies. It is important to respect each other. All teachers please remind students not to bully. We have to take care of someone who is weak. It is good to laugh, but it is mean to laugh at someone. We have to respect others who are our friends at the same school. Please keep this in mind, so that our Ektra will be beautiful in the future.
On the topic of listening and hearing: Is listening the same thing with hearing? Many people listen, but cannot hear. Many people listen and hear. Just like someone look, but cannot see. Whenever we listen with our heart not only ears, we will truly hear. For example, we will listen to our mom and we can hear her love inside, but we will not hear to her, when she complains. We see her doing housework and she complains about everyone in the house even our dad. If we only see her with our eyes, we think she’s trying to get herself in trouble. If we watch her with our heart, we will see that is the way she gives love. The two students who just gave speeches said that their mom is everything in the house. Mom does every job. It showed that those two students not only see their mom, but realize that is the mom’s love and sacrifice and listen to their mom complain with understanding.
There is another topic that I have to mention which is about students who receive scholarships. In the past we thought: studies well, but from a poor family. The rules to receive a scholarship are to study well and be a good person. We gave out a lot of money in scholarships, but I am very pleased to give them to students without worrying about the economic status of their families. All students have a chance to receive a scholarship if you study hard and are a good person. The envelope that you receive will make your dad and mom proud a lot. Bring this good news to your parents and please continue to maintain your honor. In the future, you will continue your degree in college. You can say that you were/are a scholarship student. You are an outstanding student. This year we have many students who receive scholarships and I am happy for all of your parents. I hope all students are good for your dad and mom. Study hard. One day, junior secondary students will have a chance to receive a scholarship and a certificate and it will be a benefit for your future. Everyone is born to have a choice. For example the show is good, music is good, and singing is good. All students are born with one or more multiple intelligences. Discover yourself, hold on it and try to improve it, so it will be good for your future.
Finally, I hope today is a good day for everyone. All teachers please recall Holy Mary because this is the month of Holy Mary. Holy Mary protects us. The school had fires nearby and other danger situations around it, but every time we are always safe. I am asking teachers to pray, especially Catholic teachers. We pray for all beings, love and peace. We give special prayer to our mothers and friend’s mothers and to our mom of Sarasas Affiliated Schools. I wish everyone luck. I hope Mother’s Day will be a good start to think of good things for yourself, family, your mom who gave birth to you, dad and a warm family. I would like to compliment everyone for every step of this celebration the show on the stage and the music. Everything looks beautiful. It makes Mother’s Day special to everyone. Thank you for your valuable time at our school. We are honored to have you as our guests. Thank you for all your love and trust to our school. Have a safe trip home.
