Director Pisut Yongkamol’s Speech:

Thank you to the Kindergarten and High School management teams who came to join today’s ceremony. Thank you Master Supoj and Ms. Supavadee for organizing it very well. I am proud that the initiatives I recommended were followed and have started to show results. For example, we use the word the “White School”. We have more promise and obligation. Those are very beautiful words especially people who are Catholic will get use the word ‘Obligation’: it is the promise that we give to a priest.

Today Students showed a Hip Hop Dance. It is interesting to watch. I have to compliment the teacher who organized and trained the students. It is very well organized.
My suggestion to improve the activity for next year is to have a Thai traditional Dance. I mentioned to Mr. Al about Thai Dancing as a cultural treasure for our country. It is our long time tradition. Another suggestion should be to have the lyrics or subtitle in English. Don’t forget that we’re a bilingual school. We should be exemplars of culture for our foreign teachers, new students, old students to understand more about part of our life.
I admire teachers, music teachers and class teachers who control students very well. I think this year is better than any other year. This year is a good year. Every time we have a Feast Day, Director always thinks what it’s going to be like this year. How are the teachers? How are the students? How are my Management Team? Are they in good health? Good Health comes from a strong body and heart. I pray for the Saint Dominico and Mother Mary to protect us all.
I liked that our MC’s used the word “Campaign”. It is also true here, but we just never used this English word. It is like the campaign for the President of the United State of America. What is about our campaign? Our campaign is “Stop Bullying”.
I hope Mr. Al translates my speech to all foreign teachers. Before I start lecturing in Thai about Bullying. My apology to all of you that I will express my campaign only in Thai. After this Mr. Al will translate to you. I would like to say just few sentences to foreign teachers. Welcome back again for senior teachers. Thank you for coming back and staying with us. For new comers, this occasion will give you first impression of how Thai students show the respect to teachers. I wish you all understand and value this occasion. This occasion is a traditional occasion. It is not just an ordinary occasion, but I believe it is the most important occasion in Thailand. When we think of teachers, we think of God. When we think of teachers, we think of Buddha. When we think of teachers, we think of our King and Queen. We think of our parents who are our first teachers. I wish all understand it while we spend so much time watching those performing students. Thank you very much.
I would like to say to Thai teachers to stop bullying in the classrooms and the school. At the school, starting from coming to the school, we will not allow any kind of bullying to happen. We will talk to our students. We will treat others the same way; we would like to be treated. This is very important. If the teacher sees any kind of bullying in the classroom and ignores it, that means you do not doing your jobs well. Remember when you were young and we experience the same thing, someone bullied you. We should let that experience stop at ourselves. We should continue good traditions only, such as Wai Kru Day. We will give love and understanding to our students. We will stop any kind of bullying that happens in our school. We should observe the students in line to buy foods, to refill water bottles or the time students play together because bullying can happen at those times. If we can stop bullying, our school will be like While School. The school will be like heaven for students and teachers. Student and Teachers will want to come to our school. We should not have Bullying between teachers as well. I will talk about it when we have our meeting.
Teachers should not have any prejudice toward students. Teachers should ask yourself often and every day that if you are a good teacher? Look at yourself in the mirror and ask if you are being nice to other teachers. How are we welcoming to our new teachers? How do we talk to senior teachers? How do we take care of our students? Bullying can happen when we are unaware, remember to ask ourselves often, so our school will be a White School. We can say our school is full of love.
The auditorium is a rectangle. Do you know who is important in this room? The person at the corner over there also important. The person upstairs also important. There is no blind spot because we are equal. Every teacher is important. Do not think that we are not important because it is the start of bullying. The worst thing is that you bully yourself. You bully yourself when you think you are not important and not worth anything. Our students are also worth as much as a world famous soccer player. Everyone is important. For example, while I’m talking if Teacher Jack turned off the sound system, nobody would hear what I said. Teacher Jack is helping everyone all the time. He is not bullying himself. He is a good worker. This is a good example. Students who performed on the stage are also another good example. Not sure how long they had been practicing. Usually Ektra students do not take that long. Maybe 3-4 days. All teachers and the management team who organize this activity, I’m happy about it. Our school is the white school and it can start from us because we are Ektra. Mr. Al could please don’t miss a single word. Thank you.
Thank you to all the students. Today is a good day. It is Feast Day. It is the birthday of our school Saint. The Saint who supports our students is Dominic. He became the Saint since he was your age. He is the only child Saint in the Catholic church. He was a good kid, a good leader and follower. Saint Dominico Savio was a student who tried to stop bullying. When he saw his friends fighting, he tried to stop and he told his friend to hit him instead. When his friend did something wrong, the Priest asked, but no one answered. Dominico thought that if he did not admit, everyone would get punishment, so he told the Priest that he was the one who did it. Saint Dominico was a  supporter for children because he is a good example of anti-bullying. I pray for the Saint to protect everyone. I hope you are good children for your parents and teachers. Study hard. Stop bullying. Thank you everyone for a very well organize activity. Thank you very much.
