Director Speech for Father’s Day

Greetings to the management, teachers, students and parents. Today, once again I have seen the ability, the connectivity and the consistency of the shows on stage. I’m proud for their parents; especially fathers. I have concise thoughts to give all students. The content also translated into English on the screen up there. I think speaking in Thai it will make sure you comprehend rather than speaking in English and translating into Thai. When you listen to Thai language and watch the English translation it is called Code – Switching. It helps activating your brain. I’d like to give an idea to students and teachers, especially male teachers. It is about the difference. The king is the leader who has brought peace to all the differences.

He respects the different: Religion, Nationality, Culture, Beliefs, Economic Status and Society. Although our country always has had problems, we have a spiritual anchor. We eat differently, from different plates, some plates are ‘fine china’, some are plastic or styrofoam, but it’s still a meal. We shouldn’t insult a meal on our plates or on other people’s plates.
Our friends may have different religions; different beliefs; eat different foods and like different things. Financial status may differ from us or different ability, think differently and it is not their fault. It is their right to have different likes. We have to respect the difference in them and the difference in you because it is human dignity. Humans eat bugs, pickled fish, meat and veggies. Some people have white skin, black skin, some are healthy, some sick. We are still humans. We shouldn’t disturb each other, but we should respect each other.

Friends should respect friends. You don’t need to love all your friends, but it’s important to respect and don’t disturb others.
Disturbing and bullying are sins that we cannot use any method to get rid of. No matter how much you make merit, you cannot clean your sins.
Please always think that when you do a good thing, you don’t get any reward, but the merit will always protect good people. Don’t do good things because you expect a reward, rather do it for creating merit.
Today is a Father’s Day. Being a good kid for your father, listening to your father, respecting him and not to being mad at him when you are disappointed in him means you’re doing good things. If you’re doing the opposite, it is a sin that will be with you forever and you cannot erase it.
If you don’t have a father or don’t live with your father, I’d like male teachers to be like a father, please do your best and think of students as your children, believing that you are their fathers. Although we’re not rich, we have no property to give to them. We can give them knowledge, ability and protect their human dignity with our best.

As a Thai citizen, our father is the King. I hope you think and do good things to give merit to our King. It is like you dedicate merit to His Majesty the King. He has taught us to be self sufficient, to save, to love the country and the land, to love water and the forest and to cherish our land. Hope you believe and follow the King’s speech. We have to do good things to earn more merit. Comparing goodness is like a good perfume, cologne or floral scent and a sin is like a rotten or stinking odor. We want our mind and soul to have a clean, fresh and pleasant aroma.

I hope students and teachers think of what I leave you today. This year I don’t have a story to tell. Only good thoughts for everyone and hope all of you realize of your job. Just like the king has created jobs for all Thai citizens. He does his job and we do our job to be good son/daughter for our land. Lastly I’d like to thank you management, all teachers, parents and students that made today successful. I wish you happiness and success. Hope god, Mother Mary and Saint Dominico Savio bless all of us.
