9th February 2016
- Farewell Building Activity
this ceremony is to instill integrity for students to ensure they are grateful and respectful towards the school’s buildings and their teachers. Students had an opportunity to recall their teacher’s kindness and say thanks for the knowledge they have received from their teachers. Students also asked for forgiveness if they ever offended or did anything impropriate to their teachers or classrooms. Following this the students had a “making friends activity” on court 2 and after this students went to the seminar room on the 7th floor to do a Thai blessing ceremony. The management and teachers blessed the students and tied sacred string on the wrists of all the students.
10th February 2016
Mothanakhun Activity for closing the academic year
was held for students to recall Holy Mother Mary and school’s saints kindness, as well as the management and teachers who have given them knowledge and taught them to be good kids during their time at school.
The Piñata ceremony
is a Sarasas Ektra School cultural tradition which is held once a year. Year 12 students had an opportunity to say their farewells to their juniors. Heart shaped paper bags were filled with candy, snacks and powder and hung on rope lines across the crescent courts. When the time came, all students were seated at the crescent court. This year, year 4-year 11 students joined the activity. Year 6 and Year 11 students cheered to the Year 12 in honor of their graduation. The Year 12 students broke the bags open by hitting them with sticks, letting the candy and fragrant powder fall to the seated students. The candy is a symbol of student relationships. A good feeling is passed from seniors to junior students at both Primary and Secondary. It also creates harmony between senior and junior students.
