Junior Achievement (JA) Thailand hosted the JA More than Money Project for Year 6 Comprehension Plus students on 2nd July 2015 to instill and build managing money skills for Thai youths. JA hopes students will gain more knowledge and understanding in how to manage money so they can adapt to use it in society nowadays.
Students learnt financial vocabulary, the role of money in the society, donating, saving, to be smart in using money, building up a business, managing money and answered some questions. Students played a game called the Community Game, where students were separated into two teams, each team threw dice to get a score, and move on the board. Students recorded income - expense in a bank book. Then the other team took turns to play. After that, both team submitted a financial report to the teachers.
Students also got to write down what kind of careers are in society and what are the working ethics. What types of deceiving advertisement are out there? etc. Teachers asked students to do a role play such as students went to buy a bicycle. The sale person said that if you buy this "a fast bicycle model" you would get a discount today, but this model was more expensive than the one that you wanted to buy. How would students would handle this situation? Students also received a certificate from Junior Achievement Thailand the the conclusion.
