Junior M.I camp opened a chance for students to join and discover their abilities and interests. It was set up for Yr. 1 – 3 primary students from 9th -13th March 2015. The activity concentrated on the development of eight kinds of student intellects based on the theory of Multiple Intelligences. There were 7 activity bases:
Base 1: Language and storytelling. Students had fun practicing telling stories using puppets for characters.
Base 2: Spatial–temporal reasoning. Students used triangles, squares, circles and shapes to make a picture from their imagination.
Base 3: Mathematics. Students practiced thinking and calculating maths problem. Students also learnt to respect rules when playing a giant Snakes ’n’ Ladders game.
Base 4: Music. Students had fun singing English and Thai Karaoke songs and dancing along too.
Base 5: Science. Students tried new ways of learning science and conducting experiments in a lab.
Base 6: Body Movement. Students practiced using both the right and left sides of the brain in a ‘nine boxes activity’ that helped other bodily coordination too.
Base 7: Understanding Nature. While learning about nature, students created a good attitude in taking care of the environment.
Students also had a chance to go on a field trip to Safari World to gain more experience, learning outside of the classroom.
