On the 5th of December 2015, we celebrated Thailand’s national “Father’s Day” which is also the birthday of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Our Infants Department hosted a Father’s day activity to honor the King and also teach our students the importance of respecting and cherishing our fathers.
Our Director, Miss Paweenrat, started the ceremony by giving a speech and presenting offerings to honor the King, after which our students then presented a variety of shows, such as:
1. Our KG3 students from the Choir performed a song letting their dad’s know
that they are their heroes.
2. A selection of KG2 students presented a Thai dance to bless the King,
accompanied by the song ‘Gentle Dancing for blessing”.
3. Student representatives read a poem for their fathers and watched a slide
show about the relationship between a father and child.
4. A very talented KG3 students show cased his Piano skills, playing along to
one of the Royal family’s songs.
5. Two of our Chinese students from KG3 also sang an English version of one of
the Royal family’s songs.
6. Lastly, some of Secondary students presented a Drama show in English to the
students.
After the morning ceremony, we invited our KG2 fathers to join in with some special activities inside the classrooms. The activities were aimed to allow fathers to express the love they feel for their child and vice versa. Our students also reciprocated by presenting Father’s day messages and cards to their dads.
Overall, our Father’s day ceremony was a touching reminder to show love and affection to the people we care about.
