Yr.6 Scout Camp: 2015 (Primary Dept.)

The Primary Department hosted a Scout Camp for Yr. 6 students from 1st – 3rd October 2015. It was an important activity for boy scouts and girl guides to practice skills at the Sarasas Affiliated Scout Camp at Sarasas Witaed Bangbon School. Boy scouts and girl guides did many activities over the 3 days and 2 nights:

1st Oct. 15: Camp Opening Ceremony, showing and practicing semaphore flags, signal lamps, Thai – International Morse code and Boatswain's whistle presented by officers of the Royal Thai Navy and walk rally in the afternoon.

In the evening, there were camp fire activities. This year’s theme was Stop Bullying & Insight Music. There was a Stop Bullying Show by teachers and a Drama and Magic show from Secondary students. Students enjoyed the show from foreign teachers a lot. Moreover there were English Drama shows from Yr.6A, Yr.6E and Yr.6F students.

2nd Oct. 15: Boy scouts – girl guides participated in various adventure bases such as a Canoeing Base, Wall Climbing Base, Giant See Saw Base, Rope Tunnel Base and they tested on special subjects such as Signals, erecting a tent, cooking and making a rope ladder. Boy scouts – girl guides needed to be able to send and receive messages with semaphore signal flags and Morse code.

Scouts and guides also learnt to pioneer such as building a rope bridge or a raft. For camping, scouts and guides learnt to erect a tent, cook rice and simple food such as an omelet and tinned fish.

In the night time, there was another camp with a show from the foreign teachers and English Drama shows from Yr.6B, Yr.6C and Yr.6D students.

3rd Oct. 15: Group Relationship Activity at Sarasas Affiliated Scout Camp and morning exercise. After that it was a time to give awards to Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, and Closing ceremony after scouts and guides returned to Sarasas Ektra School Primary Department.
