Thai – Australian Friendship ( Secondary Dept. )

11:30 am

Mr. Alistair Lawrence along with Ms. Panudda Pitinitnirum accompanied by Yr 12 students Mstr. Bunyarit Lin, Mstr. Nithiporn Yompakdee, Mstr Supachot Kokiattimanon, Miss Pornsinee Sivilaikul and Miss Napat Sermwattana paid a visit to H.E. Ambassador Paul Robilliard at the Ambassador’s Residence at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok.

Encouraged by the recent words of the Australian Prime minister, Mr. Tony Abbott after the Erawan Shrine bombing, that Australian should continue to visit Thailand and not be intimidated by terrorists our school administration, teachers, students and parents wanted to show support for the gesture and solidarity of Mr. Abbott’s words and the strong friendship between Thailand and Australia.

H.E. Ambassador Paul Robilliard invited us into his residence for morning tea and a chat before our students presented him with a letter from our Director, Mr. Pisut Yongkamol and a collection of student, teacher and parent signatures to be sent on to the Australian Prime Minister, Mr.  Tony Abbott showing support and appreciation for Australian – Thai friendship. Miss Napat was also lucky enough to give an informal piano performance for the Ambassador on the residence's grand piano.

A visit like this is a good opportunity for our students to understand and learn more about Thailand’s neighbours, their customs and cultures.
