Sarasas Ektra School Secondary Department hosted a Multiple Intelligences Academic Fun Fair 2015 Activity for Yr.7-12 on Thursday 28th January 2016. MI and club activities are an important activity that has supported student’s abilities whilst searching, discovering and developing themselves for their future endeavors. Each year the school has concentrated on setting up this activity in a variety of ways to allow students to be proud of the knowledge and abilities they have gained. This year Primary student’s from years 5 and 6 also joined the activity to help build good relationships between juniors and seniors and for them to determine what they might be interested in.
MI. activity Yr. 7-9 under St. John Bosco Building
- Cooking This group presented food and snacks. Students were in groups and presented the steps of how to prepare different dishes. The junior students were able to taste the food once it was made.
- Short Film The film was about friendship and the exhibit showed the Story Board used in the film and the steps need to video it.
- Graphic Design team presented the steps for editing images and photos that the students were interested in. Some students had a photo of themselves, which they used to design a calendar, a postcard or a commercial sign.
- Board Game and Othello This based develop thinking skills by playing games. The senior students taught the techniques needed to the juniors.
- Maths & Science focused on using interesting Science experiments, which the juniors could do.
- Badminton practiced the basic skills needed to play badminton.
- Futsal practiced the basic skills needed to play futsal and how to play in a team.
- Debate the basic steps for debating were introudiced to the juniour students. The junior students were give the opportunity to discuss and voice their opinions on a topic set by the seniors.
Yr. 10-12 Club activity under St. John Baptist Building
- Science- toys invented from waste materials by the senior students were displayed, such as a phone made from a plastic cup etc.
- Creative Art items invented from waste materials, such as accessories and paper birds.
- Visual Art presented drawing techniques and 3D shading.
- After Effect presented techniques when using After effect program to help edit videos using special effects. Junior students had the opportunity to record their own video and add some special effects to it.
- Mathematics presented Mathematics game and techniques to help students practice calculating quickly.
- Performing Arts performed “Welcome to Thailand” and showed photographs of Performing arts from all four regions of Thailand.
- Photo photographing techniques were shown and a photo booth was set up, which let everyone take some photos.
- Chinese Culture introduced Chinese chess, Chinese art and culture.
- Chess introduced chess from Europe and everyone had a chance to compete in a competition.
- English Edutainment practiced English language from Movie trailers.
- Pantomime taught students all about pantomime and presented an art show.
- Fashion Photographer taught the techniques required when taking photos for fashion, such as how to pose, doing make up and how to set up a camera.
- Pathfinder showed the techniques needed when playing the Pathfinder Board Game. Students learnt about the skills for playing and also practiced using English.
- Cooking This group presented many different kinds of food and snacks. Students were set up into groups and presented the steps of how to cook certain food. The junior students were able to taste the food once it was made.
- Sport presented Table tennis, Volleyball and Basketball. The techniques and rules were introduced for all three sports.
