On December 22nd the AFR (Apology, Forgiveness, Reconciliation) Day was held at our school to enable everyone to learn to say sorry, forgive others, and restore good relations. In the morning there was a ceremony of the Holy Baby Jesus parade and a Nativity Play to let the students know the origin of Christmas Day. Then there were activities organised for each department as noted below.
At the court in front of Building 1 there was a performance by the primary chorus, followed by a certificate award ceremony for them. After that the Thai and foreign teachers who were MCs apologized and forgave each other, to set a good example for the children to follow. Then there was a lucky draw to give New Year presents to the children. Finally, the chairman of the ceremony gave a speech and everyone sang “We Are Ektra”.
At the Auditorium, Building 6 the representatives of teachers came to read the article about “Apology, Forgiveness, and Reconciliation”. Next, the administrators held a lucky draw to give gifts to the students. Then there was a fashion show on the theme “Merry Christmas” by foreign and Thai teachers. After that, Director Pisut gave his speech. Last but not least, all the teachers and students sang the songs “Joy to the World” and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" with a lot of fun.
The event was held at the court in front of St. John the Baptist Building. Everyone sang “Joy to the world”. Then the Director gave the Christmas Show Awards to the winners, and followed with his speech. After that the administrators led the “Apology Forgiveness Reconciliation” activity. Next, the President and members of the Student Council conducted the ceremony of saying sorry to teachers, staff and the school premises.
After the ceremony in the morning, the students went back to their classroom to do the “Apology Forgiveness Reconciliation” activity there. Later they had lunch with their classmates. Whilst they were enjoying the meal, a musical parade of the administrators and our music teachers went to share the happiness to every classroom.
In the afternoon, the students in all year levels gathered at the court in front of St. John the Baptist Building to watch musical performances. Then the administrators did a lucky draw to offer the prizes to the students. Before the activity ended, Director Pisut gave a memorable speech and announced the switching off of the lights on the Christmas tree. Lastly, Thai teachers, foreign teachers, and everyone sang “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”, “New Year Greetings”, “The Prayer”, and “The Royal Anthem”.
In the afternoon each department set some time for the students to throw a small party in their classrooms. They brought sweets and snacks to eat with their friends and teachers. In the meantime, the students had an opportunity to express their love and good wishes, and to apologise to their classmates, whom they might have bullied in the past, both intentionally and unintentionally. Additionally, the teachers encouraged the students to forgive one another.
