Our school held Father’s Day 2017 activities in remembrance of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and his great benevolence and to encourage everyone to realise the kindness of our fathers and benefactors. The events were held at the Auditorium, 4th Floor, Building 6, on November 30th for Primary Department and on December 1st for Infant Department.
To begin the ceremony, the chairman lit the candles and presented the garland to Mother Mary and His Majesty King Rama 9’s image. After that the encomium to honour the Late King was read, followed by a Khon Performance from the Ramayana story, showing a scene in the Battle Episode. Next, there were several items which included musical performances from the band of our Primary and Secondary music teachers, an imaginative dance: “Can’t get enough….loving dad”, and speech performances from the winning students.
Then the representatives of mothers came up to talk about their husbands (the fathers of the students). The special guests were Ms. Jaruwan Kittiakkarasakul, mother of Miss Sitanun Noppakan (KG.2G) and Mstr. Sippakorn Noppakan (Y.1A), and Ms. Inthira Piyachanyasiri, mother of Miss Ratha Thepwattanapiyakul (Y.1D) and Miss Nicha Thepwattanapiyakul (Y.2A). Also, the certificate for “Outstanding Dad” was given to Mr. Watchara Thepwattanapiyakul. Finally, all students sang together “Pra Raja Nai Nithan (King in Fairy Tales)” and “the Royal Anthem” (4 line chorus) etc.
Additionally, School organised some bonding activities for KG.2 and Y.3 students and their parents, as below.
- For KG.2, there were picture puzzle games, expressing love between dads and children through Father’s Day cards and our students and their dads took turn expressing their love for each other. The atmosphere was filled with love.
- For KG.3, everyone participated in games in which dads had to wear shirts in the colour of their child’s sports colour. Then they were grouped into their colour teams and played some games together. The points were collected and the winner was Team Sapphire. Our Secondary students together with all the moms had fun singing songs and beating drums to cheer the dads.
Director Pisut Yongkamol’s Speech
“ I once watched an overseas documentary about His Majesty King Rama 9’s musical intelligence. It reminded me of our Ektra music teachers who are second to none. They can prepare chorus students to sing beautifully together, creating wonderful harmonies. Also, the teachers play all instruments very well. Moreover, I’d like to leave you with some thoughts.
People are like carbon. When carbon goes though a chemical process, it becomes a precious diamond. Just like us, when we get over difficulties and obstacles in life, we will gain better mindfulness. In contrast, people who always live a comfortable and easy life won’t prosper in their minds. His Majesty King Rama 9 is a great example to all of us. He devoted his life to working on his royal projects with an aim to bring happiness to all Thai people. He didn’t think about his own happiness.
Today a mother who has cancer came to talk on stage and has received a great deal of encouragement from the father and her two little children. I ask all teachers to please take good care of their students to help decrease parents’ burdens. Sometimes nobody sees us when we do good things, but the results of being good are within ourselves. Last but not least, I’d like all teachers here to take care of your health, reducing salty food and sweets, and I’d like to cheer up the parents who gave a talk today and encourage them to fight with their problems and be patient.
Please don’t give up. We have shared similar situations. Best of luck to everyone.”
