On November 21st and 28th, and December 12th, 2017, twenty-five of our students from Years 10 and11 participated in a workshop held under the heading “JA Company Program”, which was a collaboration between Junior Achievement Thailand (a non-profit organisation founded in the USA) and Bangkok Bank.
The students gained a better understanding about how to run a business and received hands-on experience regarding entrepreneurship. The Bangkok Bank officers were their special guest lecturers. They came to share their knowledge, and conduct the workshop with the students, showing them how to make a business plan for their simulated company.
The students worked on the details of each step as follows: establishing their company, selecting the management committee, advertising available positions, appointing employees to various positions, delegating work, understanding the roles of each position, inventing and making products, and calculating costs and profits.
Our Ektra students have established their own company in the name of “Lenim”. Miss Patchanat Wanodhayan (Year 11B) is the managing director. The Lenim Company focuses on selling products to their targeted customers, who are students in schools and universities.
Furthermore, the students will be able to compete with other teams in this program under fair rules and judgments. In January the Bangkok Bank will be hosting a Trade Fair to let all the schools in the program come and their businesses to compete with each other.
