Thank You Ceremony for the end of Academic Year 2017

Sarasas Ektra Primary and Secondary departments organized a Thank You ceremony for the end of Academic Year 2017 on the 23rd of February 2018 in the auditorium of Building 6. The Infants department had already held their ceremony on the 7th of March in the Crescent Court of Building 1.
The ceremony was held to say thank you to God and Mother Mary for blessing and protecting the teachers, students and parents who have successfully passed through the teaching, learning and all activities safely in the 2017 academic year.
We were honoured to hear a speech by Father Nipon Siriworawuth. Furthermore, representative Thai and Foreign teachers spoke to the students about how to live their lives successfully in the future. We also watched a musical performance and sang the Ektra anthem "We are Ektra".

Speech by Father Niphon Siriworawuth

Listening gains you good knowledge. Listening to good advice will enhance your good qualities and you can apply them in your life. I like to buy translated books to read and I feel that sometimes just the title makes me think of many things or even one line can become my inspiration because the words of God show the goodness he has implanted in every heart. When our hearts have goodness we will happy.
I have a story to tell. Once upon a time there was a man who saw a woman who was in a hurry to go to a meeting but had forgotten her keys in the car. She was sitting beside the car sadly, not knowing what to do. This man offered to help her. He made a hook out of wire and released the lock. She said thank you to him and he told her that he had just come out from the prison and the first thing he did was to help her. He had become a good man because he had had time in the prison to think about life.
What I want to say is that a well embedded good foundation is very important in Thai society to build the country and people with good education who can think, can do, and can solve problems. These things will lead to an advanced society. We can see that a big tree falls down in a storm as its roots were not deep and strong enough, but our lives are surrounded with God's blessings that makes our roots stronger. We can solve problems; we have a target to achieve, and can adjust to different things.
May the Lord be that strong root that gets embedded in our hearts. Lastly, may God bless the administrators, teachers and students to be happy and thankful to the Lord.

Director Pisut Yongkamol's speech

Good morning teachers and students. As Father has just said, everyone must have a strong foundation; trees must have strong roots and we must have strong roots to stand on. If we have, we can fight any obstacle that might come along. We will be able to face problems no matter what they are and how difficult they are. With these strong foundations embedded in us we will not sway like water hyacinth does with the current.
For the teachers who will not be with us in the next academic year, I wish you all luck and ask you to always remember that this place was like a foundation for you. Here is where we built this home. We supported each other even if we faced obstacles. We all stood strong.
For Y.6 students you all wear the logo of your school, which has a very deep meaning. As seen on the upper left hand side is the dove, on the upper right hand side is the open book, on the lower right hand side is the flame below six stars and on the lower left hand side are the teachers who take care of their students. I would like all of you to remember this picture because it shows the unity of Sarasas. You should be proud of Sarasas Ektra School, which is the number 1 school in the Sarasas Affiliation. Always remember this.
