Summer Camp 2017 (Infant Department)

SarasasEktra’s Infant Department organised Summer Camp 2017 activities which prepared the pupils to be ready for basic things in life, led them to learn to help themselves, encouraged them to become familiar with the school and its environment. Finally, pupils had a chance to practise various skills essential for daily life. There were three types ofcamps as detailed below.
1.English Camp - (Birds of Paradise Theme)
The camp was held for KG.2-KG.3 students from 27th March to 12th April 2017, 8.30 am - 2.00 pm. It encouraged the kids to learn more English taught by the foreign teachers. The pupils were divided into three groups according to the summer’s themes which are “Flamingos, Peacocks and Parrots”. There were interesting learning bases: English Language, Mathematics, Arts, and Music. In these bases the pupils learnt about different categories of birds, their characteristics and habitats, and some new vocabulary aboutthe differentbirds. They also studied and practised counting one to fifty and using different types of colours. Additionally, the kids went on the field trips which included visiting Safari World, Dusit Zoo, and Funarium where the pupils had a great opportunity to learn firsthand from things around them and had a good time playing a variety of games and activities.
2.Breakthrough Camp - (Wonderland Fantasy Theme)
Organised for NC.-KG.3 students, the camp took place from 27th March to 28th April 2017, 8.30 am - 2.00 pm. Its purpose was to prepare the kids and to enable them to gain more knowledge and a better understanding under the theme “Wonderland Fantasy” such as Prince & Princess, Fairytales, Superheroes etc. Furthermore, there were additional activities as follows:
- The Star of the Week: In the morning, there was a showcase of the students’ work and a summary of things they had learnt. Also, there was a quiz show with weekly rewards for outstanding students, the stars.
- Kids on the Move: The kids were trained topay respect to the elderly and have discipline when lining up. In addition, they were taught and encouraged to be community-minded. Additionally, they practised and exercised in order to have a strong body.
- Closing Activities: In the morning session, the pupils wore special costumes according to the themes and walked on a catwalk in the fashion show. Later in the afternoon, they had a wonderful time participating in several games.
3. Taekwondo Camp
The camp was held for KG.1-KG.3 students from 27th March to 28th April 2017, 2.15-3.15 pm.This is a bodily-kinesthetic camp for practisingone of the most popular Martial Arts, Taekwondo. The students learntimportant skills such as how to punch, and kick etc.
