On June 5th, 2017 Sarasas Ektra’s Primary Department organized World Environment Day activities. The purposes of these activities were to enable the students to realize the importance and the value of the environment and to encourage them to help save and sustain it.  There were various activities which includeda video presentation, a quiz, a drawing and colouring contest, an information board about World Environment Day, and a‘big cleaning’ activity after the morning assembly for Yr.4-6 students.

         Furthermore, the school’s Secondary Department held World Environment Day activities under the theme “Connecting People to Nature” with an aim to encourage the students to connect with the nature around them, guide them to realize the beauty and the importance of nature, and to promote the treasuring and protecting of Earth’s natural resources.          Additionally, the Science Department cooperated with the teachers from other departments to integrate the learning in the project “Edible Home-Grown Vegetables” for Year 9 students. Finally, on the World Environment Day the students’ projects which won the contest were collected and shownin the exhibition. This was in order to let the other students learn more about the home-grown vegetables for the whole week and to make the projects’ winners feel proud of themselves for achieving the prizes.
