Yr.11 Batch 20 Leadership Camp


            From the 5th to the 11th of November 2017, School hosted a Leadership Camp for Yr.11 (Batch 20) students. The students held their camp activities in four schools in Mae Wang District of Chiang Mai Province: Ban Mai Pang Doem School, Ban Phan Ton School, Ban Mai Pa Fang School, and Huay Kaew School. The children in the four schools who were involved were pupils from KG.1 to Year 9 level. The activities carried out were as follows:
            1. Learning Local Wisdom and How to Create Artwork at Sala Daeng Village
            The students gained hands-on experience in making crafts and artwork, such as perforated paper, pottery ceiling mobile, and water colour painting.
            2. Sharing Knowledge with Children
            Our Yr.11 campers provided tuition to children in the following subjects: English, Mathematics, and Science. In addition, they conducted some recreational activities and exercises such as Line Dance and Marching.
            3. Renovating Buildings and Other Facilitations
            Our students renovated some buildings and areas inside the schools such as canteens, grounds, libraries, academic buildings, playgrounds, and BBL (Brain-Based Learning) Court.
            4. Sports Competition
            The Yr.11 students and the children were grouped in sports colour teams and participated in sports competitions to create good relationships among them.
            5. Conferring Luncheon Scholarships
            The students conferred on each of the above-mentioned schools four scholarships for the children’s lunch, each of which was worth 5,000 baht.
            6. Conferring Tuition Scholarships and Other Contributions
            The students gave the tuition scholarships to the four schools, each of which was worth 5,000 Baht. These schools also received other donations, such as study kits, sports equipment, and toys.

            Apart from doing various activities in the schools in Mae Wang District, the students were able to visit the beautiful Phachor Canyon, which is regarded as Thailand’s Grand Canyon, situated in Mae Wang National Park, Doi Lo District, Chiang Mai. Phachor Canyon is considered a natural attraction for tourists.

            There was a camp-closing activity on November 24th, 2017 at our school. An exhibition was held on the theme “The North of Thailand”. The students in each sports colour team displayed some food and souvenirs from the north, as well as photos from the camp. They presented the activities they had done in Chiang Mai in English to the administrators, teachers, and juniors who came to join the event.

            This Leadership Camp has encouraged the Yr.11 students to develop various useful skills such as leadership and team-working, and to boost their spirits in terms of public consciousness, sharing, and self-esteem.

            All the activities went successfully thanks to the support of parents from all of our three departments and the kind sponsors from many shops and companies such as Chia Tai Company Limited, Sakura Products (Thailand) Company Limited, DHA Siamwalla Ltd, Lactasoy Company Limited, Nanmee Books Co.
