Sarasas Ektra arranged an activity “Cultural Day 2018” for November 30th, 2018 to be a chance for students to learn different cultures, their differences, and some interesting features of each country such as languages, national costumes, music, etc. All details of the activity are as follows.
Kindergarten and Primary Department
Students started their activity at Ektra International Airport in Area 1. After this, students rotated their visits to each activity station (representing a country or region). Each class visited 4 stations. The activity was jointly organized by parents, foreign teachers, and Thai teachers. There were in total 12 activity stations; Japan, China, South Korea, France, England, Canada, Australia, India, Philippines, Western Africa, Eastern Africa, and Thailand. In the activity, all students enjoyed varieties of food, crafts, international costume, and so on
Secondary Department
The activity was arranged at Crescent Court 2 and underneath St. John Baptist Building. Activities were conducted in different booths and displayed cultures from different countries. The activity started with a Thai traditional "Khon" music and dance performance, and there were different cultural shows from many countries including Thailand, Spain, the Philippines and so on. Students participated in the activities and enjoyed watching different national costumes and local food of each country, and learned about the climatic type of different countries in the Asian and South American regions. Furthermore, Year 4 to 6 students joined activities such as quiz contests organised by secondary students.
This activity brought enjoyment and excitement through diverse cultures. It also helped students learn about cultural differences and taught them to appreciate these cultures. The school would like to express appreciation to all parents who sacrificed their valuable time and participated in the activity. It truly was a great experience for all students.
