Year 11 Camp of 2018


             From November 4th to the 11th, 2018, Sarasas Ektra organized a Leadership Development Camp for Year 11 students (Batch 21). The objectives of the camp were to develop students’ leadership, teamwork, public consciousness and awareness of the values of sharing and self-respect.

             The camp was conducted in four schools in Mae Wang Sub-District of Chiang Mai Province. They were Ban Pan Ton School, Wat Huay Kaew School, Wat Siri Chai Nimitr School, and Tri Mitr Widdhaya School. The students who participated in the camp organized various kinds of activities for KG.1 to Year 9 students. The activities are listed below.

             1. Learning arts and making art works at Saladaeng Village (local pupils) - Students had a chance to learn how to make mobiles from earthenware and drew pictures using water colours.
             2. Teaching the early learners English, Mathematics and Sciences, as well as Line Dancing and other physical exercise.
             3. Renovating different areas in the schools, such as painting floors, painting the basketball court, and tiling.
             4. Organizing friendly sports competitions.
             5. Giving financial support for luncheon to all four schools. Each school received 5,000 Baht.
             6. Giving four educational scholarships to each school. Each school received 5,000 Baht. Additionally, different items such as clothes, dolls, hand-made notebooks, used textbooks, and toys were donated to all schools.

             Aside from these activities in Mae Wang Sub-District, the students also had a chance to visit and appreciate the beauty of Pa – Chor, a place that has been named the Grand Canyon of Thailand. It is situated in Mae Wang National Park, Doi Lor District, Chiang Mai Province.             

             The closing ceremony of the camp was held on November 30th at Sarasas Ektra School. In the ceremony, a northern-style exhibition was organized for administrators, teachers, and junior students under the topic “North of Thailand”. Students exhibited northern-style food, some souvenirs from the north, photographs, and students’ works that were produced during the Camp. All the presentations were in English.
