Year 8 Scout and Girl Guide Camp

Secondary department organized the scout and girl guide camp of academic year 2018 for Year 8 students during January 26th – 29th, 2019 at the Scout Camp of Sarasas Affiliated Schools. The aim of the camp was to develop students physically, morally, and intellectually. Additionally, students’ leadership and problem-solving skills were also developed.

Saturday January 26th, 2019

Welcome activity, camp opening ceremony, and night activity. The aim of all the activities were to train scouts’ and girl guides’ senses and night-time survival skills such as bravery, listening, noticing, touching, tasting, and smelling.

Sunday January 27th, 2019

Long-distance patrolling and team building activity. Scouts and guides joined seven activity stations such as swinging balloon, ball and water, command game, etc. After this, scouts and guides got to learn about fisheries, fixing dinner, and star watching.

Monday January 28th, 2019

Scouts and guides took part in seven adventure stations including three-rope bridges, rubber-made cliff, hanging bridges, cradle bridges, rock climbing, and rope-made walls. After this, they listened to stories about trees told by local scholars, joined the campfire and had some recreational activities.

Tuesday, January 29th 2019

Morning ceremony, boy scout and girl guide camp farewell ceremony, and travel back to Sarasas Ektra School. The camp closing ceremony and awarding ceremony were held on Friday February 22nd, 2019.
