On 29th July 1962, King Bhumibol Adulyadej (King Rama 9) visited the Faculty of Arts at Chulalongkorn University to discuss the misuse of Thai language. His interest and worry in the preservation of Thai language left an impression on the people in attendance. They chose 29th July every year to be National Thai Language Day to recall his speeches and for the preservation of correct Thai language use.
On this special day in 2014, Sarasas Ektra Primary Department held a variety of activities associated with the preservation and correct use of Thai language. Students entered a variety of competitions to show their ability in Thai Language such as Thai Speedball, Storytelling, Poem creation with an illustration, and writing a story in the title of “Thai kids use Thai Language”.

A Thai Folk Song Show performed by Y4 – Y6 students was enjoyable and entertaining for students and teachers. It was centered on the theme “Online Reading-Writing” because it created new words or used Thai words in an incorrect way, thus showing how it should be really used. All the activities and competitions were aimed at showing everyone the correct way to use Thai language.
