Now there appears to be a main issue within the Thai social network about Reading Thai. It is pleasing to know the Thai social network has awakened and is worried about the quality of Thai Education.
On the Issue of teaching the students to be able to read and write, it is the same initiative the Ministry of Education established back in September 2013 “We will not have any students who cannot read and write” . Priorities and measures were established for every related department in-cluding Government and Private sectors to join together to find a variety of successful techniques to help students to be able to read and write.
The Ministry of Education has improved the content of textbooks and teaching techniques to help students to be able to read and write since long time ago. But, National Testing found that students still cannot read and write well according to the initiative. All Schools that follow the policy realize this fact. The Schools try to use all kinds of teaching techniques, using the policy of the Ministry of Education and other Education Departments and the schools also apply their own techniques for more variety.
Schools from the Sarasas Affiliation are the same as other schools that have the intension in using quality and a variety of techniques to help the students to be able to read and write well. The way of teaching “Jak-Look-Kum” (It is the same way of spelling in English, for example, Student will be S-T-U-D-E-N-T) and “In Order” for a good reading result of pronunciation and pronounce for writing. We found that reading ‘In Order” is appropriate for the beginners because it is the best to prepare for basic for reading and writing correctly. After that when the students grow up with the basic of understanding reading and writing, we will focus more on the pronouncing of “Jak-Look-Kum”
Over the past 50 years, it has worked well with the agreement and trust from parents.
The results which prove are the quality of the students. The 2013 National Testing scores from other Department and the ability of the students that know how to pronounce, paraphrase, read for communication and grammar show that students in Thai Subjects have a high ability.
However , the quality of pronunciation of students is not from only one technique. We use many appropriate tools along with media for teaching. The Management and continue following up for greater improvements along with cooperation from home which is also a factor that helps students can read and write.
The documents that appeared on social network are not documents from a Sarasas Extra text book.
